Nikko

About an hour and a half from Tokyo lies a town called Nikko. I decided to do a day trip from Tokyo in order to explore the countryside of Japan more but if anyone else attempts this, please leave earlier in the day because the temples do close earlyish, especially in the winter months. Anyways, Nikko is quite small but has a pretty decent size tourist industry. There are buses going in a loop to all of the interesting places so it is quite easy to maneuver around. There are numerous streams running through the town and snow capped mountains in the distance. Nikko is most famous for its abundance of traditional temples in a mountainous setting. Here one can find a famous wooden carving of the three wise monkeys:"see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil." Anyways, here are my photos.
